Architectural Designer
(Part II or recent Part III)

Job Description
You will be working in a small team on multiple projects, ranging from small to large scale residential developments. You will have an active role in all stages of the design, from concept modelling, planning deliverables, technical drawing, and site work.

All ZED PODs projects are Net Zero Carbon by design, and as such you will be requested to undertake environmental modelling, carbon calculations, and sustainability strategies.
​
As ZED PODs are a joint architectural and construction office, you will be exposed to construction methodologies and strategies, you will take an active role in construction matters such as planning construction phases, costing, specifying, and overseeing site progress.
​
This role is ideal for someone who takes an active interest in the construction and delivery of projects, and/or has previous experience with post-planning duties.
Desired Software Experience

Autodesk Revit & Revit Plugins — Some experience across all RIBA Stages 0-7, technical experience and BIM Level 2 or an Autodesk certification also preferred

Lumion —Rendering software skills

Adobe Suite — Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat Pro skills

Autodesk Forma — not essential but preferable
Key Experience Required

Minimum Part 2 UK qualification or equivalent

arb registered or equivalent

Previous work in residential development at the planning or technical stages

Modular / MMC / Offsite experience preferred, or keen interests in Modern Methods of Construction (MMC)

Previous experience with sustainable design and construction
Responsibilities
-
To prepare, develop and edit, under the guidance of the project leader or nominated architect, drawings, models, images and other documents relating to the design.

To lead the creation of design and access statements

To produce architectural drawings and models for planning and technical use

To develop, where required, representations of design options for further discussion by the design team

Thorough knowledge of and compliance with UK regulations and standards in residential design.

Evidence of a good design understanding e.g. a good design portfolio

Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team

Ability to use a variety of media in the development and documentation of a design project

A flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working with proactive mindset.

Ability to independently working from home

Hybrid working policy: 4 days in the office, 1 day work from home with more flexibility upon request

Ability to take initiative in response to direction or instruction

Evidence of the ability to understand design decisions taken by others
